Backgrounds

Sivaraman Eswaran is working as a Senior Lecturer with the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Curtin University, Malaysia. He holds the position of Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Computing (Cybersecurity) program since January 2023. In addition to his academic role, he serves as the leader of the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) Cybersecurity Keylabs Working Group. In this capacity, he actively contributes to driving cybersecurity advancements in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia.

He has recently received the esteemed Fellow HEA recognition, accredited by Advance HE in the UK, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to teaching, learning, and student success. He also received the 2023 Students’ Choice Award from the Curtin Malaysia Student Council for his dedication to teaching excellence and quality academic support, based on university student votes.

He is a CompTIA Security+ certified professional and EC-Council Certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator. He is also a Microsoft Certified Professional and EMC Academic Associate. He is a Senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM. His research interests include cyber security and cloud computing. He has published several research papers in refereed journals and conferences. Furthermore, he is a registered volunteer in the National Security Database to assist and guide Cybercrime victims.
