Background
Dr Tang joined Curtin Sarawak in 2005. He obtained his Bachelors and PhD degrees from Victoria University of Manchester. His PhD was focussed on pollutant dispersion in coastal flows near a headland. Dr Tang’s other research interests include treatment of septage and wastewater with engineered wetlands. He has also been involved with consultancy projects such as staff training in the area of Environmental Engineering, and others. Dr Tang is currently the Head of the Civil and Construction Engineering department, having served as Head and Coordinator for the Engineering First Year programme from 2006 – 2011.

Course development:

  • Developed the Environmental Engineering course for Curtin Sarawak. Prepared the business case and justification, drafted and mapped Programme Outcomes (POs) and Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs), and created tuition and assessment patterns
  • Preparing the Environmental Engineering course for submission of provisional accreditation to Engineers Australia (as of 2016)
