Welcome to the Research and Development homepage for the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia. Here you will find information on the different research clusters in the School, staff research expertise, information for prospective research students and research collaborators, funding opportunities, and ongoing funded projects. The research focus of the School is captured under 4 thematic clusters aimed at providing innovative technological solutions to the problems facing the 21st century world. The research clusters are: Energy and Environment; Intelligent Systems, Design and Control; Materials and Structures; and Bio-Process Technologies. These clusters have dedicated research staff members who have attained recognition in their respective fields because of their excellent contributions and formidable expertise. Our research track record is evident from the nationally competitive grant performance, strong refereed publication output and collaboration with other universities both in Malaysia and overseas as well as the industries. We welcome prospective research students, scientists, and industrial practitioners to partner with us to advance these important topics for the future of science and technology. The School of Engineering and Science offers postgraduate studies at both Master and PhD levels in the following four main research areas:
- Energy and Environment
- Intelligent Systems, Design and Control
- Materials and Structures
- Bio-Process Technologies
Aside the multidisciplinary research groups, there are also departmental research capacities and strengths within specific engineering and science disciplines. Potential collaborators and prospective MPhil & PhD students may check out specific research areas using the links below to research activity flyers of each department.
