Background

R. Nagarajan is Professor in the Department of Applied Geology, Dean R&D and Director of Curtin Malaysia Research Institute. He had graduated B.Sc. (Geology) from the VOC College, Tuticorin, M.Sc., (Geology) from the University of Madras and Ph.D., (Geochemistry) from the Anna University, Chennai. His research interests include applications of geochemistry to various fields of research i.e. evolution of sedimentary systems, petroleum geology, environmental geosciences, urban and regional geochemical mapping and biogeochemistry. He has published over 110 indexed publications (Journal papers, conference proceedings and book chapters). His current research focuses on sediment geochemistry, biogeochemistry and urban and regional geochemical mapping. He has been awarded the top most prestigious award called “John Curtin Distinguished Professor” from Curtin University Australia for the providing a significant and sustained contribution the University in national and international reputation, exceptional research skills and distinguished record service to professional and public life. He has more than 11 years leadership experience as HOD, Associate Dean (R&D), Dean (R&D) and Director of Research Institute with Curtin University and achieved great milestones under his leadership.
