Background

Dr. Tay Ai Chen is a senior lecturer of Environmental Engineering Programme, Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Science, Curtin University Malaysia. She is a member and Chartered Environmentalist of Energy Institute, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She holds a PhD in Plant Ecophysiology from Nara Women’s University, Master of Science (Environmental Chemistry) and Bachelor of Science (Environment) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She has eight years of industrial working experiences at Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd, involved more than thirty-six Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) projects covering infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, agriculture and etc. She is actively doing research including hornbill monitoring, vegetation growth, biodiversity protection, and teaching innovation. Her research interests are Environmental DNA, environmental conservation, environmental impact assessment, climate change, forest ecosystem and agriculture.
