He is currently an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering department, and Head of Department for Engineering First Year and Foundation, Curtin University Malaysia. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang in 2008. He then pursued his postgraduate studies at USM in 2009 and graduated in 2013. During his PhD studies, he served as a research engineer and involved in designing a pilot-scale pharmaceutical production plant, which was funded by the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC). Then, he was offered to join a Malaysia-Cuba technology transfer project at Finlay Institute, Cuba in 2012. His areas of specialization in bioprocess engineering include enzymatic reaction and application, Aptamer mediated biosensing, nanovehicle in drug delivery as well as bioremediation of wastewater.
