CUMEC “Shape Your Future Career” Talk

Curtin University Mechanical Engineering Club (CUMEC) had organized a career talk titled “Shape Your Future Career” on 10th May 2013. The talk aims to let the student engineers know more about working as an engineer and the opportunities lying ahead of them.

The invited speaker was Ir. Chow Yuet Hong, the lead engineer from Ranhill Worley-Parsons in Miri.  Ir. Chow shared his experiences working as an engineer in the oil and gas industry.  This helps to enlighten the students about tasks performed by engineers, particularly mechanical engineers in the industries.  Apart from that, Mr. Chow also explained how student engineers should prepare for their internship and future job applications.  In short, the talk was inspiring and beneficial to the students as they were exposed to new knowledge and perspectives through active interactions with Ir. Chow.
