Background
Dr. Paran, currently a Lecturer at Curtin University Malaysia under Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Civil and Construction. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering, specialized in wastewater phycoremediation, along with a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Civil Engineering from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. Dr. Paran’s research primarily focuses on practical applications of microalgae for wastewater treatment (phycoremediation) and biomass production, as well as the use of phytoremediation technology for bioremediation of contaminated soil and transforming waste materials into value-added products. His impactful work is evident through over 20 cited papers indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. As a registered graduate engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a certified professional technologist by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), Dr. Paran’s expertise contributes significantly to the field, particularly in sustainable wastewater treatment and environmental remediation practices.
