Background

I joined Curtin University Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) in January 2020, previously worked as Senior Lecturer in International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) before joining Curtin Malaysia. I obtained both my BEng (Hons) (Civil) and PhD (Civil) from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). My study interest for PhD involves Erosion and Sediment Yield Control in Equatorial Region. In addition, I have been exposing myself to the industry by working as Part-time Environmental Consultant; mainly involving myself in environmental-related civil engineering design projects, such as conducting Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), formulation of Environment Management Plan (EMP) and Environmental Monitoring Report (EMR). I am also registered as an EIA Consultant with Natural Resources and Environment Board, Sarawak (NREB).

ESG Dialogue Series (completed)

Curtin University Malaysia and ESG Malaysia joint organized an ESG seminar on 8th March 2023, the title was “Sustainable Financing and Biodiversity: Exploring the Intersection between the EU and Sarawak.” The seminar was supported by Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak. The seminar attracted about 45 participants including Curtin students, staffs and Maybank officers. The seminar was successfully creating awareness about the importance of ESG among FOES and FOB students. I was the organizer.

Curtin Academy Sustainable Futures Conference (completed)

Curtin Academy organized The New Columbo Plan (NCP) program, funded by The Australian Government Student Mobility Program. In this program, students are co-partnering in a consortium with educators and thought leaders from the Curtin Academy and industry experts to explore “hot-topics” that address the theme of academic global challenges with local action research to support the planet sustainability. In this
program, a knowledge-sharing conference on 9-10 January 2023 was held at Curtin University Malaysia, Miri, Sarawak. I have been assigned as co-coordinator, and my task were contacting local industry professionals to be keynote speakers and arranged the logistic.

ESG Workshop: The Pathway to ESG Accreditation (completed)

This project was initiated by Pro Vice-Chancellor of Curtin University Malaysia, Prof. Simon Leunig. As an environmental expert, I have been assigned as organizer of ESG Workshop in Miri, Sarawak. The title of the workshop is “The Pathway to ESG Accreditation.” During planning, I setup and managed the committee team, invited keynote speaker, and scheduled the workshop. Besides, I also involved in marketing by engaging a lot of companies, and invite them to send attendees to the workshop.

MOA with JKR Sarawak (on-going)

Project Title: Determination of Bearing Capacity of Soil Using Mackintosh Probe in Sarawak

I have been assigned as team leader to lead the project. The main objective of this project is to refine the Soil Bearing Capacity vs Mackintosh Probe Values graph. The project involves desktop study and laboratory works. As team leader, I organize the meeting once a month to follow up the progress of this study.

Curtin Malaysia Teaching Innovation Project (CMTIP) 2021 (completed)

Project Title: Enhancing First Year Engineering Student Online Learning Experience Through Virtual Science Practical Lab.
This project was initiated by Dr.Yam Ke San to enhance First Year Engineering students online learning experience. I had been invited to join the team as laboratory demonstrator. I managed to prepare laboratory manual for students and ensured all the laboratory equipment were functioned well before laboratory demonstration.
