Curtin University Mechanical Engineering Club Launched

Curtin University Mechanical Engineering Club (CUMEC) had been officially launched on 29 July 2011 at Curtin University Sarawak Lecture Theater Foyer. The launching ceremony started on 11am and around 6 Mechanical Engineering Department lecturers and 60 members were present during the launching. Welcoming speeches were given by the club president Mr. Eng Ze Ru and then followed by the club advisor Ms Lim Chye Ing. According to the president, the club plans to have at least 3 talks, 2 site visits and one Mechanical Engineering Week throughout the current semester.
As a sign of officially launching the Curtin University Mechanical Engineering Club, honored guest Professor Alexander Gorin was invited to launch the club by triggering a mechanical device which was designed by the event committee. Refreshment was served right after the launching ceremony. It was a well-done job for the organizing committee as attendees and guests were enjoying the event and impressed by the creatively designed launching mechanism.
As a result of tireless efforts from the club committee members, the club has gained its popularity among the campus community and the club has successfully recruited more than one hundred members.
