Call for Entries: ChemE-car Competition 2013

The ChemE-car competition 2013 will be held on Friday, 20 September 2013 at Curtin Sarawak Recreation and Event Center (REC Hall).  This event is organised by Chemical Engineering Student Club (CESC), with the support from Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department. 

ChE 2013 Chemecar is open for all Foundation of Engineering 2nd Semester, 1st & 2nd year undergraduates who will study/are studying Bachelor Degree of Chemical Engineering at Curtin University Sarawak Campus. Multi-disciplinary teams are also encouraged. However, the team must have at least two students from chemical engineering. The combination of two Chemical Engineering students, one Mechanical Engineering student and one Electrical Engineering student would be the best combination and recommended.

The objective of ChemE-car Competition 2013 is to design and construct a car that is powered with a chemical energy source that will carry a certain load to a given distance and stop. The car will be judged based on the combination of completion of a defined task, design creativity and issues related to safety, environment and health as the model car handles chemical fuel.

“The Perfect Blend” Curtin Sarawak team’s ChemE-car ran on the track during the 8th National ChemE-car Competition at Taylor University, 8-9 April 2013.  The Perfect Blend’s team members are Radika Murthy, Vimala a/p Ganesan and Mohd Nabihan Adli Bin Zailani.
