SESCO Site Visit on 3rd of August

Dear Students,

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) will organize a half-day trip to the SESCO, Miri branch. The schedule is as below:

Date: 3rd of August, 2012 (Friday)

Time: 8:00am – 12:00pm

Assembly Point: Campus bus stop (next to the Bookshop/ GK supermarket)
 
The agenda of the visit is listed as below:
1) Introductory briefing on SESCO’s background, and a safety presentation by Regional Office and Power Station engineers, followed by Q&A session.
2) Visit to Pujut 33kV substation
3) Visit to Miri Power Station 
 
Seats are limited, therefore we will work on a first come first basis (Third year ECE students will be prioritized). If you have classes which clash with this visit, please consult your unit lecturer to discuss the possibility of you joining the visit.

Please read through the following notes for better understanding before filling up the registration form:
·         Depart from Curtin Miri Campus bus stop near Curtin Bookshop at 8:00 am to SESCO
·         Depart from SESCO at 12:00 pm back to Curtin Miri Campus
·         Please have proper wear during the visit. Slippers and short pants are not permitted for the visit.
·         Personal Protection Equipments (PPE) (including helmets and safety boots) will be provided by ECE department. You should collect the PPE on 2nd of August, 2012. The collecting time will be announced later.
·         The PPE must be returned after the visit. Missing equipments will be fined accordingly.
