Background

Dr Hisham Ben Mahmud is a Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia Institute. He has joined Curtin University Malaysia in 2013 as a Lecturer and he is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Energy Engineering. He completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Curtin University, Australia after obtaining MSc. Degree in Engineering Studies from Sydney University, G. Diploma in Oil and Gas Degree from Western Australia University and BSc. Hons Degree in Chemical Engineering from Tripoli University.

Dr Hisham’s research focuses on the enhanced oil recovery and CO2 sequestration from/in conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Also he focuses on well stimulation using acidizing approach. Moreover, his research inters is on well production optimization and optimize the risk of hydrate formation in subsea systems. He has supervised several higher degree research students, and honours project students. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference publications, and a current H-index of 8.
