Offshore Engineering Asia 2014

Miri – 20 November 2014 – Dr. Mohamed Ali, Lecturer in the Petroleum Engineering Department, Curtin University Sarawak has participated in the Offshore Engineering Asia 2014 forum, which was held between 18–20 November 2014 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia. The forum was specifically designed to target professionals involved in the complete life-cycle of offshore structures; from design and asset integrity, to decommissioning. It has featured a combination of case studies and expert insights from key oil and gas players operating in mature markets; and has facilitated discussion amongst renowned professionals from leading oil and gas operating companies (e.g. PETRONAS, Pertamina, Shell, Technip, Bumi Armada, Halliburton and Saudi Aramco).

In general, the program has attracted around 80 professionals from all of the word, both technical and academic staffs. According to Dr. Mohamed Ali, “the involvement of Curtin University Sarawak in such an important oil and gas event in this region together with the other leading academic institutions like Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India, University of Stavenger, Norway and ASEAN Institute of Technology, Thailand shows our commitment to stay relevance in the field.”
