Program Educational Objectives (PEO) 
PEO 1 Curtin’s petroleum engineering graduates shall create significant impact in the petroleum engineering industry by demonstrating their experience in working with significant projects within their organization and society at national and international levels
PEO 2 Curtin’s petroleum engineering graduates shall remain at the forefront of the petroleum engineering industry by demonstrating their leadership within their organization and society at national and international levels
PEO 3 Curtin’s petroleum engineering graduates shall uphold professionalism in the petroleum engineering industry by being involved in professional development activities

PO 1 Engineering Knowledge Acquire and apply mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and petroleum engineering principles to solve complex petroleum engineering problems
PO 2 Problem Analysis Identify, formulate, conduct literature search and analyze complex petroleum engineering problems
PO 3 Design/Development of Solutions Design innovative solutions for complex petroleum engineering problems that meet specified needs with consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental constraints
PO 4 Investigation Utilize research-based knowledge and research methods to investigation complex petroleum engineering problems
PO 5 Modern Tool Usage Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and computational tools to solve complex petroleum engineering problems and activities with an understanding of the assumptions and limitations
