Background

Dr. Mehdi Safari joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering on May 2018. He received his Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir Engineering major) from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). He graduated with M. Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Petroleum University of Technology (PUT). His areas of teaching interests include Reservoir Simulation, Fluid Flow through Porous Media and Advanced Reservoir engineering. His research interests lie mainly in the area of:

Reservoir simulation (grid block or stream line)

Reservoir boundary control.

Design of smart (intelligent) wells and reservoirs

Reservoir history matching

Production optimization (using intelligent approach)

Planning and simulation of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) methods

Simulation of fluid flow through porous media
