Background

Dr Tang joined Curtin Sarawak in 2005. He obtained his Bachelors and PhD degrees from the University of Manchester. His PhD was focussed on pollutant dispersion in coastal flows near a headland. Dr Tang’s other research interests include treatment of septage and wastewater with engineered wetlands. He has also been involved with consultancy projects such as staff training in the area of Environmental Engineering, and others. Dr Tang is currently the Dean of Learning and Teaching for Curtin University Malaysia, having served as the Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching for the Faculty of Engineering and Science (2017 – 2022), Head of the Civil and Construction Engineering department (2012 – 2017) Head and Coordinator for the Engineering First Year programme (2006 – 2011). In his current position as Dean of Learning and Teaching, Dr Tang is focussed on supporting and developing the university’s academic staff in their learning and teaching practices, learning and teaching innovation and scholarship of learning and teaching (iSoLT) and students’ learning.
