Background

Dr. Rajat joined Curtin University of Sarawak Malaysia in December 2014.  He completed his PhD in Science at Jadavpur University, India in 2002. Prior to joining Curtin University of Sarawak, he worked as a Research Fellow at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Science, University of South Wales, Australia. His main research area focused on Earth’s surface processes during its early history.  His current research interests are (i) inter-continental correlation and stratigraphic analyses of the late Archaean-Paleoproterozoic volcano-sedimentary successions of India, South Africa and Australia (ii) sediment provenance, contemporary basin tectonics, paleoclimate and paleoweathering characteristics of the Paleoproterozoic successions eastern India and Miocene successions of Sarawak, east Malaysia and (iii) destructive plate margin processes and sedimentology of the Mio-Pliocene Misaki Formation, Miura Peninsula, Japan.
